I want to like this place, and it seems that that they're serving decent tea, but frankly they are very stingy with the quantity of leaf that they use. Stupidly expensive (which they are) is forgivable in NYC if the product is good, but if I'm paying close to $50 for one pot's worth of leaves, don't skimp out. I think they must be using 2g or less for a single-person serving, which is insufficient and means that it's a lot of more difficult to taste the complexities and evolution of tea. Literally a 1g increase of dry leaf (probably less than $1-2 of input on a $45 item) would mean a much better experience, and it's just very disappointing to see them be so stingy. I assume that the tea they served me was good based on the number of infusions it managed to produce (which, admittedly, is not a perfect metric), but I never really had the chance to taste the full palate. Lovely atmosphere, and the "barista" was very nice. I cannot recommend this place, especially to those who drink gongfu cha regularly.

Floating Mountain is a quiet refuge in a busy city, the tea and atmosphere was calming and wonderful. The highlight is the tea specialist Caitlin who was so welcoming, kind, and knowledgeable!

Serene facilitated a calming and intentional space for the tea ceremony. She’s very knowledgeable and I left the space with a more understanding of tea

Calm and beautiful place. I love their atmosphere. For 90 minutes, I was able to have 10 steeping of tea, and it was $35 with 20% tip.

Floating Mountain is one of those rare places that instantly slows your mind the moment you walk in. The atmosphere is incredibly calm and peaceful, making it the perfect escape from the usual rush of daily life. Everything, from the gentle ambiance to the thoughtful details and the incredible tea creates a feeling of deep relaxation.
